About Southampton Ferry Port

Southampton, one of England's great maritime cities, is the mainland base for Red Funnel's Isle of Wight services. Vehicle ferries sail from the Town Quay terminal to East Cowes in about 55 minutes, while the Red Jet hi-speed catamarans run from Town Quay to West Cowes for foot passengers in around 28 minutes. The terminals sit beside the city centre, a short walk from Southampton Central station and easily reached off the M3 and M27. Southampton is also a major cruise port, but for ferry travellers it is first and foremost the quickest way to the eastern half of the Isle of Wight with a car.
