About Cairnryan Ferry Port

Cairnryan sits on the eastern shore of Loch Ryan in Galloway, the closest mainland Britain comes to Northern Ireland. P&O Ferries runs the two-hour crossing to Larne, while Stena Line sails to Belfast in around two and a quarter hours, between them offering more than a dozen sailings a day. The two terminals are a short distance apart on the A77, about an hour south of Ayr and reached via the A77 and A75 from the central belt and the M6. Cairnryan handles cars, motorhomes, coaches, freight and foot passengers, and is the natural choice for travellers from Scotland and the North of England heading to Belfast and the Causeway Coast.
