Wightlink is one of the two main ferry operators serving the Isle of Wight. It runs three services: the Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferry (about 45 minutes), the Lymington-Yarmouth car ferry across the western Solent (about 40 minutes), and the foot-passenger FastCat catamaran from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier Head in around 22 minutes. Between them they carry cars, motorhomes, motorcycles, cyclists and foot passengers, with frequent daily sailings that make day trips easy. Wightlink terminals connect directly with mainline trains at Portsmouth and Lymington Pier. Fares depend on vehicle length and time of travel, and Multilink and season tickets are available for regular island travellers.
For Portsmouth and the east of the island use Portsmouth-Fishbourne (car) or the Ryde FastCat (foot). From the west, use Lymington-Yarmouth.
