About Hovertravel
Hovertravel operates the world's last year-round commercial passenger hovercraft service, skimming across the Solent between Southsea in Portsmouth and Ryde on the Isle of Wight in around ten minutes, the fastest way across the water. The hovercraft carry foot passengers only, with no vehicles, running frequent daily departures from terminals beside the beach at each end and connecting bus and rail links at Ryde. Because it flies over the surface rather than through it, the hovercraft keeps running in conditions that can slow conventional ferries.
